The Persieds were shy tonight but they eventually gave us a good show.
Just to remind everyone: this Congress passed the following huge bills:
Except for the last one, every other was bipartisan.
It may not feel like it but this last two years really has been incredibly legislatively productive. We didn’t get everything we’ve wanted but hell we did good. Let’s be proud of that.
If the Inflation Reduction Act passes, this will be the conclusion of a truly monumental legislative session. It may not seem like it but this is absolutely huge.
“Over time, society changes and its values do, too. This isn’t a bad thing. Our monuments should reflect that change — or they should end up in a museum.”
I keep saying that San Diego is not on track to build enough housing this decade. VOSD gets it.
So many spirals. Wow
My latest housing piece is out now!

I live in Normal Heights, San Diego a formerly Street-car Suburb. The close-knit, 3rd-way (lots of shops, walkable) feel is exactly why I love living here. It's just a shame the street-cars are now long gone. We do have busses, but most residents commute by car to work.

I would just like to point out that San Diego is headed in the right direction.
We’re building more and more housing. We’re increasing density. Our city is becoming increasingly walkable/bikeable. And we have good climate goals.
We need more, but this is the right track.
I've called my senators today.
I really should have a calendar reminder for that.
