I will neither confirm nor deny that I did exactly that.

Circle circle, dot dot, I just got my (first) Covid shot.

It felt surreal when I was next in line, realizing I had been waiting a whole year for this and it was actually finally happening.

That’s so awesome! So many people I know are getting vaccinated! We’re finally climbing out of this hole!

I was going to reply with something funny but there's something wrong with the markup of your feed and I couldn't respond in my reader, and by the time I found the permalink for this I forgot what I was going to say

I think I found the issue. Pushed a fix. The timeline on the homepage had the wrong u-url.

It took 20+ years to dig this hole. It will take just as long (or longer) to dig our way out.

oh no, looks like you're using the same imageproxy as my reader, and it has a bug where it can't accept its own URLs 😆

Looking better?

Rolling out the fix now. I can just remove the cache for outward-facing images. I forgot that they're already behind Cloudflare anyway. Thanks for the notice.

Oh no! That's actually hilarious. We should pair on the fix. I don't know Go, but I'm sure we can figure it out.

Aaron Parecki

Sadly I think most people don't, which is how Spotify is getting away with centralizing the podcast industry.

sonicrocketman
Dec. 9, 2020

Yeah. This stuff concerns me greatly. Podcasting is one of the last true open web mediums with broad traction, and it too is being swallowed up.

Aaron Parecki

ah if you're talking about syndication format rather than content format, I understand the question now :-)

sonicrocketman
Dec. 8, 2020

Correct. I should have clarified. When I say podcast, I mean over RSS.

Aaron Parecki

I didn't realized they were gone? There's a bunch on YouTube right now

sonicrocketman
Dec. 8, 2020

True true. I meant outside of YouTube over RSS, like podcasts are today.

Aaron Parecki

Huh, now I don't remember if that was intentional or not. Is that how micro.blog does it?

Dec. 4, 2020

I don't think so. I see Manton's full-length posts from Micro.blog.

Great stuff!

Just FYI, your full length blog posts don't show any content in your JSON feed, but your RSS feed does.

I have the same problem when I cook big pots of anything. Is it four meals, or just one big one?

Micro.blog 2.0 is rolling out with updates for the web, iOS, and macOS. It’s a lot of little (and big!) changes at once, so I’ll be watching for any launch day quirks. Thanks for your support!

I haven't seen blue sky in days

sonicrocketman
Sept. 13, 2020

I honestly can’t tell if our sky is cloudy or smoky. It’s probably both at this point. Air quality is crap. We get occasional blue but not much.

Aaron Parecki

Fine, just not happy about spending 48+ hours in this air, kinda worried about the possible side effects of this a few weeks from now

sonicrocketman

I don’t doubt it. We haven’t had it nearly as bad, but the fires have done a number here too. Closes reading to me says 158.

I have the same worries. I’ve never really had bad allergies but they’ve been crazy lately.

On this day last year I woke up at 3:45am to get on a plane to New York to go give a presentation the next day, then fly to Dallas, then Houston, returning home on Thursday. I haven't been on a plane since then.

Thanks for the help. Now I need to take a bunch of new pictures.

Aaron Parecki

Once I upload photos, there's a text box next to each photo. I can type in emoji that I want to use for that photo. If I type an emoji that's associated with another image it removes it from the other image. It's surprisingly quick to set up this way!

That’s pretty cool! Simple and easy to use.

Though I will say, you’re not helping me convince myself to not build this.

Maybe this weekend.
